Morality concerns right and wrong. We all think we must choose. Everyone has a conscience. It’s built into us, ever since Eden.

Morality implies that God is rewarding and punishing. He is not.

Believers know we are made right by Christ. Yet we also must choose. But when we choose the unwise or harmful thing, it is not held against us by God. What we do is continue to act in love. This is where grace leads us.

The capacity for love is in everyone, and grace influences everyone. Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, remember. But none are being ‘held accountable’ because Jesus did indeed reconcile all things.

Accountability and offense were only connected to the law of Moses. It was given to the Jews, and not the Gentiles. All peoples went by what their consciences told them, a sort of natural law place in them by God. But their decisions were not held against any by God.

The power of love and grace in our lives is what makes us free from having to choose right or wrong. It is the very gospel. When we live knowing we are loved by God, we can then love others.

We are rescued from morality, to live by His life in us. Those who are not doing this have not believed the good news. They are still choosing right and wrong, and worried about reward and punishment for those choices.

Living by grace is denying nothing that Jesus did, as some charge! He did it all and it is finished. This is the good news.

“The knowledge of good and evil seems to be the aim of all ethical reflection. The first task of Christian ethics is to invalidate this knowledge”. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“…but of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil you shall not eat, for in the day that eat of it you shall die.” Genesis 2:16b

In the light of grace, we know the law is the ministration of death. Grace is from the very heart of God to our hearts. It is life. Grace teaches us His ways. We know after the spirit, not the flesh. Our flesh is crucified with Christ.

We are to judge no one after the flesh. When we do, we put ourselves under the same law (standard of right and wrong) we use to judge by. Paul says we fall from grace when we do that (grace becomes ineffective in our hearts).

The world does not operate in grace. The world needs laws and rules. Sometimes the laws need to be changed to line up with what is good and right, and to curb new wrong doing. Laws are civil, not spiritual. It’s best not to be confused on this. We can violate a law, but it is not sin in God’s eyes. Sin is finished.

We can of course offend a fellow human being. That is also called sin in the Bible, but the word does not mean an offense against God, or a transgression of the law. It merely means to err, to stray from the path, to miss the mark. It’s an archery term. There is no guilt in missing. You just don’t get a prize.

Sin itself is a bad word in translation, because it does imply guilt. But we are stuck with it. It’s the word the translators used.

Examine Yourselves?

by Melissa Perez on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 7:16am

2 cor 13:5″ examine yourselves whether you are in the faith.(His faith, view yourself from HIS perspective) Test yourselves. (Test=dokimazo, root word dokimos=accepted,pleasing-this word was used to give name to men of integrity who during ancient times would not accept counterfeit money)

To test yourself is NOT to look to what is wrong with you, but what is TRUE OF YOU.

God does not want you to accept anything counterfeit that is said about you!He wants you to be one of integrity and accepet only that which is Truth and who is truth Jesus,That which is true of Him is NOW true in YOU

1 John 5:20 “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life”

See we are to examine ourselves whether what we are believing is aligned with what HE KNOWS, because what exists in the mind of God alone is TRUE.

Philemon .6 says “ That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgement of EVERY GOOD thing which is IN YOU in Christ Jesus“…

See our faith, will be as effective as our acknowledging of  the GOOD in US By Christ. Often times we read scriptures like the one above in corinthinas and think we are to make sure that we are not being” bad”, that we are trying really hard to be “good”, and we check for all our “sins” (which He NO LONGER REMEMBERS) rather than recognizing and APPRECIATING HIM IN US!

We’ve been taught to look at our “sin” when God doesn’t want us living sin conscious, BUT CHRIST conscious.

He wants us aware of what has been made right IN US!

He wants you aware of that which Christ came to redeem the image and likeness of God in YOU.

2 corinthians 3:18″But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord”

See it is in our BEHOLDING(constant) as in a MIRROR(revealing what is NOW) NOT a window (revealing what could be) that we are transformed into the same image. It’s in our acknowledging HIM and HIM IN US that we are awakened to experience HIS REALITY.

This is why paul could say “we regard NO man according to the flesh any longer”  because He had become so aware of a greater reality than that which He saw and even experienced in the physical realm. He had discovered CHRIST IN HIM which led him to preach CHRIST IN the nations. Galations 1:16

It is this truth that  moves you and over takes you, because you begin to see Him in the face every sinner and every saint.

We are to NOW regard (greek text eido– to KNOW) ALL man according to THE TRUTH=Jesus. 2 cor 5:16

John 1:4 states ” In Him was the life, and the life was the LIGHT (Phos- the TRUTH and its knowledge) of men” As francois says, Christ did not come to be an example for you but OF YOU! Through His living and His being He was revealing God’s intent for Man, our ORIGINAL design was and is revealed in HIM.

To walk in the Light as He is in the LIght is not about works, but about walking in this greater reality. To live in the place  where darkness has been dispelled and you can once again see and live aware of His imprint, His image, and likeness in YOU and in ALL creation. It’s in this place where competetion, strife, and condemnation ceases to exist  because mankind’s value is again revealed.

Romans 8: 30 b – Those He justified, These He also glorified (literal text glorified To cause the dignity and worth of someone to become manifest and acknowledged)

You have been justified, that you may be glorified and your worth manifested and acknowledged!

Know that Jesus is God’s final word about man.

EVERYTHING He would ever need to say TO YOU, FOR YOU, or ABOUT YOU He has SAID IN CHRIST.

Hebrews 1:1 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;”

Christ is His opinion of You!

He  is the revealing of God’s original design for man- which He has come and redeemed.

Discover yourself in His thoughts and do NOT settle for less than HIS OPINION OF YOU!
